Lal Gumbad is a tomb of Shaikh Kabir-ud-din Aulia, a Sufi Saint who was a disciple of the famous Chirag-i-Delhi Saint Shaikh Raushan. This tomb which is located on the roadside of Maharshi Dayanand Marg in Malviya Nagar was constructed in the year 1397 CE. This tomb complex had a gateway with enclosure wall, five wall mosques and several graves.

significant wall mosque located next to the structure of Lal Gumbad has short return walls on the north and south. Circular bastions are constructed at junction of walls to provide structural stability. Two other mosques have three mihrabs and the third has a single mihrab.

As its golden finial was stolen, Lal Gumbad was also known as Rakabwala. Architectural layout of the tomb is similar to Tomb of Ghiyas-ud-din Tughlaq, the builder of Tughlaqabad.
